Fast ForWord is a computer-based program created by Scientific Learning Corporation. It was developed to increase cognitive abilities of children with language and literacy learning difficulties. It is also a perfect tool to study English!
What is Fast ForWord?
Fast ForWord® is an internet-based therapy that dramatically improves language and reading achievement. It is different from other interventions because it strengthens the key pathways in the brain that help children learn, so they can pay closer attention to their teachers, absorb information faster, and remember what they are taught.
Who can benefit?
Fast ForWord is appropriate for both English learners of any age or children, teenagers and adults who have been diagnosed with, or have difficulty with the following:
- Specific language impairment
- ADHD/ADD
- Specific learning disability
- Dyslexia
- Autism
- Hearing impairment: children with hearing aids or cochlear implants
- Writing and reading weakness
- General academic weakness
- Delayed language development
How does Fast ForWord work?
The program addresses reading and language skills while concurrently developing foundational cognitive skills like memory, attention, processing, and sequencing. These cognitive skills are central to all learning, resulting in improved outcomes for reading and other subject areas, too.
